Kali Linux Unveils New Version 2023.1 – Get Ready for the Latest and Greatest! | CyberNcrypt

Kali Linux announced the official release of its newest version, 2023.1, which marks its 10th anniversary! This new version is available for immediate downloading or updating.

The new version is packed full of new and improved features compared to the previous version, 2022.4. A few of the noteworthy changes include:

Kali Purple – The new version marks a shift towards defence as well as offence.

Python Changes – This version includes the latest version of Python (3.11) and PIP changes.

2023 Theme – This year’s theme is a throwback to the past.

Desktop Updates – The new version includes updates to Xfce 4.18 and KDE Plasma 5.27.

Default Kernel Settings – The new version includes updated default kernel settings.

New Tools – As always, there are various new tools included in the new version.

Nvidia users may not be pleased with this release, as reports of the 525 series of Nvidia drivers breaking with certain GPU models have been made by users of various Linux distributions, including Debian, Ubuntu, and Arch Linux. Unfortunately, this means that Kali Linux is also affected by this issue.

Kali Linux’s latest release includes various new tools such as Arkime, CyberChef, DefectDojo, Dscan, Kubernetes-Helm, PACK2, Redeye, and Unicrypto, in addition to numerous package updates and new libraries. Furthermore, the Kali kernel has been bumped up to version 6.1.
